Originally from Poissy (near Cergy), he studied in Paris at Université Pierre et Marie Curie where he got his Master Degree in Fundamental Mathematics. Then he moved to Pisa, Italy, for a Ph.D. at Scuola Normale Superiore. He stayed there for three years, with two research times at Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris. He enjoyed very much the international atmosphere he experienced during his studies, and got the opportunity to travel for his research work to Canada, Greece, Israel, Poland, Japan… He also has special ties with Africa, because of his Ethiopian and Malagasy origins.
